Recently while feeding my Pinterest addiction, I discovered some images of designs people made out of barcodes. For this assignment, turn something simple into something great by using an image of a barcode and forming a different object or design. For examples, look here.
I was actually inspired by the talk we watched a couple of weeks ago by Kelli Anderson. She spoke a lot about challenging things we normally accept by completely adapting into something else – like turning a barcode into a zebra!
Here are some of my own designs that I made in Photoshop and Paint:
Here’s a really detailed explanation on how to use the magnetic lasso tool in Photoshop. It selects an area in your photo that you can either paste an image inside of or get rid of completely. I used the tool to trace the zebra, then pasted a barcode inside the selection.
For Paint, just insert a barcode onto the canvas and draw as needed!
